80's Exhebition at the Power house museum

Earle and Amy invited me to come along with their friends to the opening of the 80s video game exhibition of the powerhouse museum. It was apart of the current 80s exhibition which I didn't have high hopes for. But I was wrong, most of it was relay interesting. And that they kept it to what the 80s was like in Australia.

A room where the visuals and music was changing depending on how much people where moving.

If I was a girl, these would be the shoes I would be wearing.

Amy and Earle in front of the big interactive Rubik's cube

RAT parties where apparently the cool ones. I only managed to catch a fraction of them, but their invites and posters looked great.

A prophet 5, behind glass. Apparently the powerhouse museum has got a fairly big selection of vintage synthesizers... that the staff is not allowed to switch on.... terrible...

Indie tronics at Serial Space

I got a text message from Earle saying he was going to a "build your own audio effects processor" workshop one hour later. I decided to join in. As we hadn't booked they didn't have any spare room for the actual workshop, but we where welcome to join in, listen and have a look.
It was great to so many people eager to learn and actually build something them selves.
I will go again, and keep an eye on their website for sure. To see what is up and coming.
Today they where building a Fuzz effects pedal.

Gyoza night

We made Japanese Gyoza dumplings at Ayumis place again. We where a lot of people, so a lot of dumplings needed to be made. For the first time, we actually hand made the skins as well.
But to save some time, we cheated a bit. We didn't make all the skins our selves. We bought too as we needed so many.

Kat, Ayumi, Sakura, and.. damn I am terrible with names

Yoshimi & Kat

Kat & Gerard

After the Gyoza night was over, me and Kat went to the 7m bar for one drink. It was the last chance to see it. As closing day was Sunday. The 7m bar, was part of the "Lane ways by George" project. Different installations where made in all the little lane ways off George street (one of the main streets in the city centre). Apparently the best one, was the 7m bar. The name refers to how deep under the sea level that area will be when all the ice melts on earth. It had a kind of "after the catastrophe feel to it, with crashed cars and boats. The drinks where served in plastic jars. And they where showing movies on the brick wall. It's a shame its going as its a realy cool place.

On our way home thorough the park, I finally managed to capture one of these little fallers on camera.

It was do damn hot, and I couldn't walk all the way home, so I stop by the zoo and took the ferry over, rather than walking all way around, over the bridge.

I have done plenty of fairly long walks recently, here are a few random shots from those occations.
